Who We Are

ABOUT US

Evolution Elevator & Escalator Corp. is a family operated and women-owned business. We’ve built and expanded our business by rising to any challenge and encouraging our team to think outside the box when issues arise. Our principles come before our bottom line and we take pride in our work. The integrity of our management team extends to all aspects of our field operations. The safety of our employees and the riding public is our top priority.

Management

Our management team has over 25 years of experience and we’ve worked closely with each other for most of that time. We are hands-on in every aspect of the operation, and no task is too small or too great. We believe in an open line of communication, and because of that, there is never red tape to cut through to speak to our team personally. We are here to simplify the management and maintenance of your elevator or escalator - not complicate it.

Union Strong

Our President, management team, and all field personnel are proud members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors and have completed the NEIEP Educational Program. Being part of the IUEC allows for the best training possible. There are safety and equipment continuing education courses offered to us through the union hall that non-union companies simply can’t compete with. We also invest in monthly in-house safety meetings to ensure safety is always at the forefront of our business.

The Best in the Business

Our technicians are hand-selected, dedicated, proud, and talented mechanics. We value our technician's suggestions and feedback which enables us to be proactive, instead of reactionary, towards any issues that arise. We allot our mechanics the necessary time to do proper maintenance and repair. Unfortunately, the industry standard has become that of shutdown maintenance, but this is not our way. Proper maintenance and repair will ensure the safety, reliability, and longevity of your elevators and escalators.

“Elevating” the Bar

Evolution Elevator & Escalator Corp. does not employ any salespeople. Most of our new work comes via referrals from our satisfied customers. We put our focus on getting the job done safely and efficiently and letting our hard work speak for itself. Although we are far from the largest vertical transportation company in our service areas, our high standards continue to elevate the bar not only for ourselves, but also for the rest of the industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, our technicians have the experience, training, and service tools to service equipment manufactured by any company.

We understand how critical it is to have your equipment running. We offer a "no excuses" 2 hour response time 24/7 - 365.

As per the New York City Building Code, all passenger and freight elevators with mechanically coupled doors must provide a system to monitor and prevent automatic operation with faulty door contact circuits by January 1, 2020. The system ensures the safe operation of the elevator doors and will not allow the elevator to move if the doors are not closed in the correct position.

The service life will vary based on the type of equipment, amount of use, and quality/frequency of maintenance. Useful life of an elevator and escalator is generally 15-25 Years.

No, typically the OEM is not the right company to upgrade your equipment. These OEMs try to “lock” you in with proprietary equipment, expensive service tools, and long-term contracts to upgrade your equipment. Evolution Elevator & Escalator Corp. specializes in upgrading and modernizing all equipment with non-Proprietary equipment, which means that we have access to parts, wiring diagrams, and technical support. OEM’s do not offer this support.

All our technicians are proud members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors. Union technicians are required to attend and complete a Five-Year Education Program. Once the NEIEP program is completed, they must successfully pass a Written Examination to become a Journeyman. Technicians within the Union are provided continuous training throughout their career. A major factor of this training is safety. Continuous safety training creates a safer environment for technicians and the riding public.

Yes. The ASME A17.1 code does require elevators to be maintained by “elevator personnel”.

Yes, but it is important that you review your service contract. Be aware of the limitations, and the requirements for cancelling. Often, larger companies require 30-90 days cancellation notice in the form of a certified letter prior to the contract end date or your contract automatically renews.Contact us for more information on this topic
